This consisted of filming myself falling over and writing on knitting needles; a brief foray in to the world of Fine Art probably best left behind me. Since graduating I have worked in London design and advertising agencies and whilst I learnt a great deal in these previous incarnations, the pull to draw was too great. I now work part time as a lecturer in illustration on a Foundation course and write and illustrate children’s books for the other part. As Client Manager my role was to ensure projects were delivered on time and on budget, coordinate various design teams and planners and to brief/manage suppliers including printers, illustrators, photographers and build companies.

The annual Searle Award for Creativity recognises excellence in any artistic discipline and is open to all students in Cambridge School of Art.
Ronald established this annual award to encourage creativity among Anglia Ruskin students and the bronze trophy, the ‘Flying Pen’, is based on one of his drawings. Each year a theme is chosen with particular relevance to his life and work, and this year the competition has been based on migration. - Mar 07, 12I've been shortlisted for the Ronald Searle Award for Creativity 2012! Yay!My entry was a series of editorial illustrations called ‘The Lost Children’. Post war Britain saw more than 150,000 children in care, some as young as three shipped to a ‘better life’ in Canada, New Zealand and Australia. ‘The Lost Children’ chronicles the journey of these child migrants.Below are three of the illustrations from the final set. I just watched Colouring Light: Brian Clarke - An Artist Apart on iPlayer Via David Hughes. Inspirational.
